The Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 453, is the original management union representing a segment of the employees of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Bay Authority. We represent over 400 of the Authority's employees from nearly every department across the "T". Our members work in a variety of technical, professional, clerical, and supervisory positions.

A former supervisor of transportation at the MBTA and a 28-year union member, Jennifer Sarro serves as president of OPEIU Local 453 in Boston—the only union woman to hold that position among the transit authority’s 20+ unions. “Being able to share the knowledge of what unions bring, not only to the workplace, but to our communities, can help make every woman’s life better,” Sarro said. #WomensHistoryMonth
